Heavy Rain Expected as Ramadan Begins

The Meteorological Department has made an important forecast regarding the weather conditions during Ramadan across the country.

After rains and cool weather in the initial days, the weather is likely to remain dry and warm in the second half of the month.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains and snowfall on the mountains are expected on March 2 and 3, however, after this, the first 15 days of Ramadan will pass with relatively good and pleasant weather, while heat and dryness may increase in the last days.

First 15 days of Ramadan: Cool and pleasant weather
According to Mehr Sahibzad Khan, Director General of the Meteorological Department, Ramadan has started with good rains and during the first fast, strong winds and thunderstorms are likely in various cities, including the federal capital Islamabad in the evening and night.

The weather will remain partly cloudy in the upper areas of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while light rain and snowfall on the mountains are expected at some places.

Intermittent rain is also expected in the northern and central areas of Punjab, due to which the weather will remain pleasant in the initial days.

Last 15 days of Ramadan: Hot and dry weather
According to the Meteorological Department, there is less chance of rain in the second part of Ramadan and an increase in temperature has been predicted. The weather is likely to remain dry and hot, especially in the plains of Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan.

According to the forecast:

The intensity of heat will increase in many districts of Punjab.

The weather will remain dry and hot in most districts of Sindh.

The weather may remain pleasant in some upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, but the heat will increase in the plains.
Weather of Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and other major cities
Karachi: The weather will remain moderate during Ramadan, however, the heat may increase in the last days.

Lahore: The weather will be pleasant after rain in the initial days, while the heat is likely to increase in the last 15 days.
Islamabad: The weather will remain partly cloudy in the first decade, but dry weather is expected in the second decade.
Peshawar, Quetta, Gilgit: Light rains are likely in the upper areas here, while the heat will increase in the southern areas.
The Meteorological Department has advised the public to take precautionary measures to protect themselves from the heat in the last days and consume more water and light food during the fast to avoid physical weakness.
