The program “Dastak” was reviewed in a special meeting, which was presided over by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz. The program aims to provide more than 100 services to government departments online or via phone calls. The briefing revealed that initially, 10 services will be offered to the people of Lahore at their doorstep. In the next phase, police verification and driving license services will also be available at the doorstep.
Services such as driving license renewal, FIR copy, and tenant registration will also be provided at the doorstep. The briefing highlighted that the government departments will offer their services at the citizen’s home, which will include birth and death certificates, marriage and divorce certificates, domicile, e-stamp, vehicle registration and transfer, token tax, and property tax services.
More than 50 thousand jobs will be created, and the citizens will be able to get the required services by calling 1202 or using the Dastak app. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz directed the immediate registration and training of the riders. She emphasized that the government will ensure convenience and good governance for the people in all circumstances
