Grand Crackdown On PTI Protesters: Over 500 Arrested; Bushra Bibi Gandapur Escape
During the police operation in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi escaped in a car, along with their workers.
Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi were in cars near Kulsoom Plaza in the Blue Area, and a small number of PTI protesters were near the cars.
According to sources, as soon as the operation began in the Blue Area, Bushra Bibi and Ali Amin Gandapur fled from the D-Chowk area, and according to reports, both fled from the D-Chowk area in the same car.
Sources say it is not possible to say for sure where Bushra Bibi and Ali Amin went, but according to reports, both fled from Jinnah Avenue in the same car.
According to police sources, the police have succeeded in stopping the car of Ali Amin Gandapur’s guards, while the car of Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi is being chased.
Bushra Bibi’s car has been diverted towards KP House, and a squad of Islamabad police is in pursuit of it. As the leadership escapes, workers also flee Avenue and Seventh Avenue, while protesters head toward residential areas.
Attock Bridge closed to arrest fleeing protesters.
According to sources, the Attock Bridge connecting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab has been closed and containers have been re-installed to block the road at Attock Khurd.
A heavy contingent of police has been deployed at the Rabita Bridge connecting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
Earlier, Rangers reached and cleared D Chowk and pushed back the workers. Now the police and Rangers cleared Jinnah Avenue from PTI protesters and pushed the protesters beyond Khyber Plaza.
Throughout the day, PTI workers clashed with the police in Islamabad’s Red Zone, and the clashes continued.
PTI workers removed some containers in D-Chowk with the help of ropes and overturned some containers. Workers wearing gas masks, armed with sticks and batons pelted stones at the police and targeted them with batons.
It should be noted that 4 Rangers and police personnel were martyred and more than 100 personnel were injured during the protest.
