Govt Responds To Blocked Passports Of Overseas Pakistanis
Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain took notice of the issue of blocking the passports of overseas Pakistanis and wrote a formal letter to the Ministry of Interior.
Pakistan Business Forum France raised this issue before the Federal Minister.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain said that this is a very sensitive issue, so an immediate inquiry should be conducted into the matter, overseas Pakistanis are our capital and they should not be harassed unjustly.
The Federal Minister said that abuse of overseas Pakistanis will not be tolerated, the ministry will set up a facilitation desk for overseas Pakistanis at airports.
The letter was sent to the Federal Minister by the Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Business Forum France, Ibrahim Dar, Chairman Zahoor Iqbal and President Aslam Chaudhry.
According to the text of the letter, there are reports of thousands of overseas Pakistanis having their passports blocked, and staff at Pakistani airports are taking bribes of four to five hundred thousand rupees by stopping overseas Pakistanis.
According to the letter, overseas Pakistanis are being forced to wait for the documents to be verified by saying that they will miss their flight. There is concern among overseas Pakistanis, and the problem should be resolved and confidence in the government restored.
