Petrol Hits Rs 266, Diesel Rs 272 Prices Soar Again

Islamabad: The government of Pakistan has increased the prices of petroleum products by a substantial amount, as per a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance.

The new prices have been implemented immediately from tonight and will be effective for the next 15 days.

According to the notification, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs 10.39 per liter, after which the new price has increased from Rs 262.59 to Rs 272.98 per liter.

The price of petrol has increased by Rs 8.36 per liter, and now the new price has been set from Rs 258.43 to Rs 266.79 per liter.

According to the Ministry of Finance, this increase in prices has been made due to the increase in crude oil prices in the global market and the depreciation of the domestic currency.

Sources say that a carbon levy of Rs 2.50 per liter has also been imposed on petroleum products, which has become another reason for the price hike.

This increase is drawing strong reactions from the public, who are already burdened by inflation.
