Govt Focuses on Education, Says Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh
Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh has said that the development of any society is not possible without education.
Educational development is fundamental to the eradication of poverty and unemployment, and the government is taking a special interest in this sector.
Addressing the Silver Jubilee ceremony of Chiniot Islamia School of College Faisalabad, the Federal Minister announced a donation of Rs 1 million for the educational institution.
Expressing his desire to establish a medical university in Chiniot and Karachi, he said that work is also underway to establish a maritime university.
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh described the fact that 90 percent of Pakistan’s trade is carried out through sea as important for the development of the economy.
Appreciating the “Udan Pakistan” project, he said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is working continuously for the development of the country, which is restoring the confidence of investors and attracting global companies to invest in Pakistan.
He described Gwadar Port as a gateway to global trade and said that Central Asian countries can also use Pakistan’s sea routes for their trade.
Furthermore, he said that Port Qasim earned a revenue of Rs 42 billion last year, which is a major achievement for the country’s economy.
Appreciating the services of the Chiniot Educational Society, he said that the philanthropists of Chiniot are actively participating in educational institutions and welfare works, which is an exemplary process.
During the ceremony, medals and certificates were given to outstanding students, while 11 children who completed the memorization of the Quran were given turbans, and 3 girls were given dupattas.
On this occasion, the students presented colorful tableau,s and cultural highlights of Pakistan were also shown, which were highly appreciated by the Federal Minister.
Chiniot Educational Society President Qamar Siddique, General Secretary Mian Shafiq Ahmed, Finance Secretary Mian Zahid Mahmood, School Principal Madam Naila Iftikhar, Vice Principal Shazia Ali and other dignitaries were also present at the ceremony.
