The hearing of the Supreme Court Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand dams funds case is ongoing, the federal government has asked the Supreme Court for the amount of dam funds.
A four-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa is conducting the hearing, Additional Attorney General Aamir Rehman said that we have filed a separate petition.
Dams Fund money should be given to the Federation and WAPDA, State Bank had opened an account under the supervision of the Supreme Court, on which the Chief Justice of Pakistan inquired how much money is in Dams Funds. On which WAPDA lawyer Saad Rasool said that about 20 billion rupees are available in dams funds.
The Chief Justice inquired how this case started. To which WAPDA’s lawyer replied that the Supreme Court had automatically taken notice in 2018 during the cases under the hearing of WAPDA.
The Dams Fund Implementation Bench of the Supreme Court held 17 hearings, on which the Chief Justice said that there will be many more projects of WAPDA, does the Supreme Court monitor every project of WAPDA?
Lawyer WAPDA said that there were disputes between the private parties on the issue of the construction of dams.
The Supreme Court has assigned the disputes of private parties to be heard by itself instead of the relevant courts.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case by calling for the relevant records of the case.
