The Federal Cabinet has approved the increase in fixed electricity charges.
According to ARY News, the federal cabinet has increased the fixed charges for industrial electricity consumers to 184 percent, while for commercial consumers, the monthly fixed charges have been increased by 150 percent.
Sources say that a 100 percent hike in monthly fixed charges has been approved for agricultural tube wells customers.
Cabinet has approved an increase in fixed electricity charges on circulation summary, fixed charges for industrial consumers will increase from Rs 440 to Rs 1250.
Fixed charges for commercial customers will be increased from Rs.500 to Rs.1250
Similarly, the fixed charges for tube wells customers will increase from Rs 200 to Rs 400.
It should be noted that the increase in fixed electricity charges has been proposed to be implemented from July 1, 2024.
