Government Trying to Scare Us, But We Won’t Back Down: Akhtar Mengal
BNP chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal has said that the media was not allowed to come to us from Quetta.
Our rally was starting when our workers tried to stop a suspicious person, but first he resisted, then tried to run away, went a little distance and blew himself up.
It is not known whether his hand accidentally fell on the trigger or he blew himself up. The government is trying to scare us, which is its mistake; we did not come here to go back.
Sardar Akhtar Mengal said that the police and Levies are standing here, as well as the FS checkpoints, which take extortion from oil trucks, but they do not pay attention to security.
Are they standing here only to take extortion? Isn’t security their responsibility?
The government has stopped us here; they are responsible for our security, but it is surprising that despite two hours of the suicide bombing, neither the administration has contacted us nor has anyone from the government asked us about our situation here after the explosion.
No ambulance was sent, nor did anyone come here to see how many people were affected in the explosion. We were not even taken away from the pieces of the suicide bomber, nor was it seen who the bomber was, nor were his fingerprints taken. I will not consider this negligence, this is their deliberate act.
He said that if we look, their prisons are full of Baloch political workers; this is their nature, and we have become accustomed to it.
But the great Baloch Sami Din Muhammad, Bebo Baloch were arrested. Yesterday, two women were also arrested from Hub. The arrest of women is our red line.
Sardar Akhtar Mengal said that if the arrested women are released, we also have no desire to celebrate Eid in the fields.
The bodies that were brought to the hospital in Quetta, whether they were missing persons or those killed in Bolan, the Baloch Solidarity Committee had announced that the relatives should come and identify them; they must be someone’s relatives.
Then, in the darkness of the night, some were buried inthe Kasi graveyard. When the relatives reached the hospital to identify them, they were lathicharged. The next day, when they protested against this, they were shelled and fired upon, in which two youths were martyred.
On the other hand, an FIR was lodged against the BYC leadership and they were arrested. We believe that the red line was crossed by arresting women.
Women are our honor, our pride, we have held a long march for their release. When we left Wadh, obstacles were put in our way when we came here. Our friends were shelled on the other side of Lak Pass, their vehicles were damaged. We decided that if they did not let us go to Quetta, we would stage a sit-in.
