The Full Court Reference will be held on October 25 in honor of the outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faiz Isa.
According to the Supreme Court Registrar’s Office, the full court reference hearing will be held on October 25 at 10:30 am.
Senior advocates including the President Supreme Court Bar Association have been invited to the Full Court Reference.
Registrar Jazeela Saleem has also informed the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association about the reference through a letter. He has asked for a copy of the President’s speech in reference.
The Full Court Reference is a custom to honor the outgoing Chief Justice for his services to the judiciary and the legal community.
Justice Qazi Faiz Isa took oath as the 29th Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) on 17 September 2023.
Former President Arif Alvi administered the oath of office to him in a ceremony held at the President’s House in Islamabad.

On September 9, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faiz Isa addressed the rumors regarding the extension of his tenure.
In response to a journalist’s question regarding the statement of Prime Minister’s advisor Rana Sanaullah regarding the extension of the Chief Justice’s tenure, Justice Qazi Faiz Isa said that Azam Nazir Tarar had a meeting.
Where Attorney General and Justice Mansoor Ali Shah were also present. However, Rana Sanaullah was absent from the meeting.
He said that Prime Minister Nazir Tarar told him that the government is extending the tenure of all chief justices. However, he made it clear that “I will not accept an extension of my tenure, even if the tenure of all the judges is extended. I don’t know whether I will be alive tomorrow or not,” he added.
