Two bogies of a Pakistan Railways freight train that was traveling from Punjab to Karachi on Monday derailed at Hyderabad Railway Station platform No 6. According to Pakistan Railways authorities, repairs are presently being made to the damaged track. According to the officials’ conclusion, all trains from Punjab that are headed for Karachi will now pass through platform No. 7.
Rail movement was suspended as a result of the freight train wagons derailing since the uptrack is still blocked. According to preliminary assessments, the incident has not resulted in any recorded human casualties. After racing to the derailment scene, the railway management got to work clearing the uptrack.
Eight carriages of a coal-carrying freight train from Karachi to Daud Khel had derailed close to Pipelan railway station earlier in November. The railway tracks were in such poor shape that the coal train’s wagons had derailed.
To move the derailed wagons, a team and a big crane had been dispatched from Kundian Junction. For hours, rail movement has been suspended on the Kundian-Multan section’s up and down tracks due to the derailment incident.
Pakistan Railways technical staff quickly reached the spot and started working to repair the derailed bogies. Following the event, railway traffic was immediately stopped on both the up and down lines. Currently, efforts are being made to remove the tracks and return traffic to normal.
Following an investigation into the tragedy, MQM-P MNA and member of the Standing Committee of Railways Syed Waseem Hussain promptly contacted the Railway Authority and directed them to take administrative action against the culpable workers.
This time, MQM leaders arrived on the scene right once and began relief efforts. In an interview with DS Railway Sindh, MNA Waseem Hussain stated that the security of people’s lives and property is their first concern and that any official who fails to fulfill his duty will be unable to continue serving in Hyderabad.
