Former Punjab CM Mian Manzoor Wattoo Passes Away

Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former Chief Minister of Punjab, Mian Manzoor Wattoo, has passed away. During his long political career, he served on several key positions, including Chief Minister of Punjab, Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs.Mian Manzoor Wattoo’s funeral prayer will be offered on Wednesday, December 17, at 2:00 PM in Haveli Wasaway Wala, Okara. The PPP Central Punjab leadership expressed deep sorrow over his demise. Former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that the party leadership and workers stand with the bereaved family in this hour of grief, while Hassan Murtaza prayed that Allah Almighty eases the final journey of the departed soul.Mian Manzoor Wattoo served as Chief Minister Punjab in 1993. His political career began with the Pakistan Muslim League from 1985 to 1993, followed by Muslim League Junejo (1993–1995), Pakistan Muslim League Jinnah (1995–2002), Pakistan Muslim League-Q (2002–2008), Pakistan Peoples Party (2008–2018), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (2018–2020), and after 2020, he rejoined the Pakistan Peoples Party.
