Forex Reserves Improve: Says SBP Governor
Karachi: SBP Governor Jamil Ahmed has said that Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves have improved, and the inflation rate is gradually decreasing.
Addressing a function on financial literacy and banking at the Pakistan Stock Exchange, he said that such programs to raise financial awareness are welcome.
The Governor said that inflation was a big problem in 2022, but as per the Monetary Policy Committee’s expectations, it is now decreasing.
He said that due to tough decisions, imports were significantly reduced, while the issues of 11,000 delayed LCs were also resolved.
Jamil Ahmed said that the exchange rate is decreasing according to the market value while the current account, which was in deficit last year, has now duxnwno surplus.
He said that we will have to work together with the corporate sector to improve the economy.
