Field Marshal Asim Munir Meets President Trump at the White House, Discusses Regional Security and Defense Cooperation
Washington D.C. – Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, held a high-level meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House. The discussion focused on bilateral defense cooperation, regional security, and counterterrorism strategies.

President Trump hosted a luncheon in honor of Field Marshal Munir in the Cabinet Room of the White House. The event was attended by senior officials from both countries, signaling the importance of the engagement.

During his visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir also met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. These meetings addressed pressing security issues in the Middle East and South Asia, as well as strategies for enhancing military collaboration and joint counterterrorism efforts.

Speaking to the media earlier, President Trump described Pakistan as “a major nuclear power” and said, “I like Pakistan. The Pakistani people are wonderful, and I played a role in de-escalating the conflict between Pakistan and India.”

He further praised Field Marshal Asim Munir as “a highly influential figure” in Pakistan, acknowledging his significant role in promoting regional peace and stability.

The visit marks a pivotal step in strengthening strategic ties between the two nations amidst evolving geopolitical dynamics.
