FIA Arrests Four in Human Smuggling and Visa Fraud Case
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Gujranwala Zone has intensified its crackdown on individuals involved in human smuggling and visa fraud. During the ongoing operation, four suspects have been arrested.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ahmed Raza, Rana Zawar, Ahmed Yousaf, and Sahir. They were apprehended from various areas of Gujranwala and Gujrat.
The suspects were involved in deceiving citizens by promising overseas employment and collecting millions of rupees in the process. Rana Zawar reportedly extorted 2.5 million rupees from a victim under the pretext of sending him illegally to Italy for work. Initially, the suspect sent the victim to Azerbaijan, but failed to facilitate the victim’s travel to Italy. The victim eventually returned to Pakistan from Azerbaijan.
Another suspect, Ahmed Raza, collected 1.8 million rupees from citizens, promising to send them to Dubai for jobs. However, he failed to deliver and subsequently went into hiding.
In a separate operation, 21 passports were recovered from suspects Ahmed Yousaf and Sahir. The suspects were operating without a license and were unlawfully collecting passports and large sums of money from citizens.
Authorities have reported that the suspects could not provide satisfactory explanations regarding the possession of passports.
All suspects have been arrested, and investigations are underway. Raids continue to apprehend other accomplices involved in the network.
