Explosion on Railway Track Near Shikarpur Derails Five Coaches of Jaffar Express

Shikarpur: A powerful explosion occurred on the railway track near Sultan Kot in Sindh’s Shikarpur district, causing five coaches of the Jaffar Express to derail. According to reports, the train was traveling from Peshawar to Quetta. Several passengers are feared injured in the blast. A spokesperson for Pakistan Railways confirmed that rescue teams and police have been dispatched to the site. It is worth mentioning that on September 23, a similar explosion targeted the Jaffar Express near Degari Cross, Spezand Station close to Quetta, derailing the engine and five coaches. Following the latest incident, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah strongly condemned the attack and sought a detailed report from the Inspector General of Police. He directed the Commissioner of Larkana to ensure immediate and best medical care for the injured and ordered rescue teams to provide prompt assistance to affected passengers. According to the IG Sindh, police and the bomb disposal squad are present at the scene, and the area has been cordoned off for investigation.
