Establishment of Palestinian State: Core of Pakistan’s Foreign Policy: PM

Islamabad (Web Desk) — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed that the establishment of a strong and independent Palestinian state, based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, remains the cornerstone of Pakistan’s Middle East policy and will continue to be so.

The Prime Minister made this statement in a message posted on X (formerly Twitter) before departing for Pakistan after concluding his two-day visit to Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, where he attended the Gaza Peace Summit. Egypt’s Minister of Culture, Ahmed Fouad Hano, saw off the Prime Minister and the Pakistani delegation.

In his message, the Prime Minister said Pakistan’s foremost priority was to ensure an immediate end to the ongoing genocide in Gaza — a goal for which Pakistan, in collaboration with other Muslim nations, played an active and effective diplomatic role.

He welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s commitment to play a constructive role in bringing peace to Gaza and expressed appreciation for his efforts.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that the freedom, dignity, and prosperity of the Palestinian people hold fundamental importance for Pakistan. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of a sovereign, viable state.
