Easter Celebrations Across the Globe: Pakistan’s President and PM Congratulated Community

Easter, celebrated across the globe, holds profound significance for millions of people worldwide. Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, as described in the New Testament of the Bible. It is a time of spiritual reflection, renewal, and rejoicing, symbolizing hope, redemption, and the triumph of life over death.

On the great occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the Christian community.

In their separate statements of the occasion, they said Easter brings a message of hope, love and prosperity.

The president on the occasion said the Christian community is a valuable asset of Pakistan.  Our Christian brothers and sisters have actively participated in the development and prosperity of Pakistan said the president. 

He also appreciated the role of minorities in the development of the homeland. He said the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees the rights of all minorities and they are enjoying all basic political, social and economic rights including religious freedom.

While referring his support to the community, he said Pakistan is determined to protect the rights of minorities and take steps for their prosperity. In the end, he said for the development and prosperity of the country, the entire nation, including the minorities, will have to work together.

While Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also extended his heartiest greetings to the Christian community in Pakistan and around the world on the occasion of Easter. He said Easter allows us to reflect on and embrace Jesus’ message of love, tolerance and forgiveness. Adopting these values, we have been able to make this conflict-ridden world a cradle of peace and harmony, he said.

Paying tribute to the Christian community, he said their struggles and role in the socio-economic development of the country are appreciatable.  He expressed gratitude that Pakistan is a beautiful blend of different faiths and cultures. Let us work together to build a tolerant and inclusive society, PM said. Let us together defeat these anti-national forces trying to damage our society’s fabric, he concluded.

Why Easter Celebration
