Donkey Slaughterhouse Established in Gwadar
In the meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Food Security, officials from the Ministry of Food and Security said that a donkey slaughterhouse has been built in Gwadar and production has also started from it.
Officials from the Ministry of Food said that an agreement has been signed with China regarding donkey skin and bones, a Chinese company in Gwadar will do this work.
The Chairman of the Standing Committee asked why live donkeys are not exported to China, to which officials from the Ministry of Food and Security said that exporting live donkeys to China is a difficult task, applications are also coming from other parts of the country for donkey slaughterhouses.
Officials said that discussions are underway with new Chinese companies regarding donkey slaughterhouses.
Committee member Rana Muhammad Hayat said that the use of donkeys is decreasing in Pakistan, loader rickshaws have taken their place, and breeding of good breed donkeys should be done.
The Secretary Food Security said that this year, wheat will not be purchased from abroad, nor will the federal and provincial governments purchase wheat because there are abundant reserves of wheat in the country.
Only 14 billion rupees have been allocated for development projects worth 201 billion rupees.
Ministry officials revealed that the tax ratio on imports in Pakistan is the highest in the world, which is affecting investment.
