Donald Blome and Mohsin Naqvi discuss stronger co-operation against terrorism, narcotics

US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome met with federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to converse Pakistan-US relations and matters of joint interest. The meeting focused on collective cooperation in the grounds of anti-terrorism, narcotics control, and security.

During the debates, both parties decided on the importance of firming collaboration to combat terrorism and drug trafficking. Minister Naqvi stressed the significance of US support in enhancing the capacity of Pakistan’s LEA’s.

Minister Naqvi guaranteed Ambassador Blome of the Interior Ministry’s pledge to making bilateral relations firmer and more productive.” he confirmed.

One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the statement that a delegation from the Islamabad Police will visit New York soon to benefit from mutual cooperation. Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the desire of Capital police officers to receive training from the NYPD.

In addition to security cooperation, Pakistan minorities rights also disscussed. Naqvi reiterated that all minorities in Pakistan have equal rights under the Constitution and that the government is dedicated to their protection.

“All minorities living in Pakistan have equal rights under the Constitution” he avowed. He further stated that the government has taken all possible actions to ensure the safety and protection of minority communities.” he further said.

The meeting settled with both parties expressing hopefulness about the future of Pakistan-US relations and a mutual pledge to working together to address common challenges.
