Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Asif Haider Shah has said that rescue 1122 district headquarters and rescue 1122 satellite centers will be established in all districts of the province.
According to the statement issued on Wednesday, he said this in a review meeting regarding the performance of Rescue 1122. Secretary Rehabilitation Waseem Shamshad, Secretary Health Rehan Iqbal Baloch, DG Rescue 1122 Abid Sheikh, and others participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, Secretary Rehabilitation and Director General Rescue 1122 said that the Sindh government has established the headquarters of Rescue 1122 at the divisional level. Since 2022, Rescue 1122 has assisted with 5 lakh 57 thousand 330 medical emergencies, while Rescue 1122 team has provided rescue assistance to 94 drowning people including 634 fire incidents, and 35 building collapse incidents.
He further said that representatives of security agencies, K Electric, KMC, and other organizations are present in Rescue 1122 headquarters, Rescue 1122 is working on urban emergencies including ambulance, fire brigade, and water rescue. In the meeting, Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Asif Haider Shah said that Rescue 1122 should be ready for any possible natural disasters and Rescue 1122 should have an inventory of heavy machinery in the province.
Entry of heavy machinery in public and private institutions should be with Rescue 1122 so that machinery can be used during any natural calamity. He further said that a rescue center would be established every 50 km on the motorway and all the highways of the province. In the meeting, Chief Secretary Sindh directed to increase the capacity of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority.
