Pakistan’s commitment to the Commonwealth agenda of connectivity and climate resilience :Ishaq Dar

He emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to fostering collaboration on education, youth and women empowerment, and climate action within the Commonwealth. Dar praised Secretary-General Patricia Scotland for her eight-year tenure and her efforts in modernizing the organization and promoting its values worldwide. He also highlighted Pakistan’s support for resolving disputes among member states and urged greater implementation of UN Security Council resolutions.

Secretary-General Scotland, in turn, commended Pakistan’s ongoing support and resilience, particularly following the devastating 2022 floods. She underscored Pakistan’s role in advancing Commonwealth principles in a digitally-driven world and acknowledged its youthful population as future leaders committed to global progress. Both leaders discussed the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting and Pakistan’s pivotal role in regional connectivity and trade.
