Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the 43rd Diplomatic Course, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said that one has to face one’s responsibilities on joining the diplomatic service.

He said that new uncertain challenges have further destabilized security, power competition has increased the fear of bloc politics, diplomats have a duty to serve Pakistan to the best of their ability.
Every new responsibility, whether political or administrative, will challenge you. Ishaq Dar said that bloc politics will adversely affect global politics, economy and inter-state relations.
Societies around the world are under pressure, right-wing politics is clearly on the rise, soft power has replaced traditional warfare, and now there is a war of narrative and disinformation.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that global changes are directly affecting Pakistan’s international relations and foreign policy.
Challenges for sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence should be answered, shifting from traditional diplomacy to economic diplomacy.
He said that we have to play a role together to advance the development agenda of Pakistan.
Young diplomats should be equipped with necessary skills including trade and investment, diplomats should be experts in international law and politics as well as economic diplomacy.
Ishaq Dar further said that the Foreign Service Academy trained more than 1500 foreign diplomats.
The Foreign Service Academy has produced eminent diplomats who have represented Pakistan with great honor.
