Quetta: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has dealt a major blow to an anti-state network by arresting Mir Khan Lehri, a close associate of Dr. Usman Qazi. The suspect, after completing his law degree from the International Islamic University, was appointed as a Prosecutor Inspector in Balochistan. Despite receiving a substantial salary from the state, he secretly acted as a facilitator for the terrorist organization BLA and participated in anti-state activities.
According to security sources, the investigation revealed Mir Khan Lehri’s involvement in dozens of criminal incidents. This arrest followed a secret tip-off indicating that the BLA was planning terrorist activities in Quetta and other districts of Balochistan at the beginning of August.
Earlier, on August 11, a suicide attacker was also apprehended, who revealed that he had been trained by Dr. Usman Qazi from the BUITEMS University. Subsequently, Dr. Qazi’s confessional statement exposed the entire network and the plans of its external masterminds.
The timely action by the CTD and law enforcement agencies foiled another major plot, demonstrating that the state remains fully committed to protecting the people of Pakistan.
