Colorful Light Over Quetta’s Sky Leaves Residents Stunned and Fearful

Early this morning, residents of Quetta Valley were left astonished and slightly alarmed as a vibrant, multicolored light illuminated the eastern mountains of the region. The phenomenon was observed around 6:00 AM over eastern Chagai district and, according to experts, was caused by SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket launch, creating what scientists call the Twilight Plume Effect. Scientists explained that this effect occurs when gases and vapors emitted by a rocket engine reflect sunlight high in the atmosphere, even though it is still dark at ground level. The result appears as glowing, colorful cloud-like trails across the sky. Videos from various parts of Balochistan show the phenomenon resembling a “rocket exhaust cloud.” However, some local sources speculate it could have been the result of a possible missile test. On the other hand, certain religious circles have linked the event to prophecies about the appearance of Imam Mahdi (A.S.), which mention extraordinary celestial signs and mysterious sounds in the skies. So far, the government has not issued any official statement regarding the incident. Earlier in the morning, before the first rays of sunlight reached the earth, residents of Tehsil Kali Harmzai and surrounding areas witnessed a breathtaking sight — a large, shimmering cloud twisting across the blue sky, radiating colors like a rainbow. While some believed it was a divine sign, others suspected it to be a trace of a rocket or space launch. In markets, on rooftops, and in the streets, people gazed in awe — children filled with curiosity, elders whispering prayers, and youngsters capturing the spectacle on their phones. Later, astronomers confirmed it was indeed a rocket exhaust cloud, formed when gases released from a rocket or satellite launch scatter sunlight in the upper atmosphere, producing a surreal, rainbow-like glow.
