Climate Change Poses Severe Economic Risks: Ishaq Dar

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has warned that ongoing conflicts around the world are posing serious threats to global peace, adding that the Pakistan-India war in May could have turned extremely dangerous.

Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, Ishaq Dar said that simmering global disputes are creating unprecedented challenges for international stability. He stressed that regional conflicts and the use of force can further escalate tensions.

The Deputy Prime Minister also identified climate change as a major global challenge. He stated that rising temperatures, recurring floods, and continuous climate-related disasters are causing devastating impacts on Pakistan’s economy.

He highlighted increasing global economic uncertainty, condemned Israel’s atrocities in Gaza, and pointed out critical challenges in South Asia including poverty, illiteracy, and natural disasters.

Ishaq Dar reaffirmed that Pakistan supports dialogue and diplomacy as the most effective path to resolving conflicts.
