Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah said that we do not have enough numbers to amend the constitution to extend the tenure of Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa.
On the other hand, Qazi Faiz Isa has flatly refused to take an extension on his post.
Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah in his interview given to private TV said that constitutional amendment is possible in both houses separately and with a two-thirds majority.
If the numbers were full, it should have been amended because the constitutional amendment is the prerogative of Parliament. A constitutional amendment cannot be presented in a joint session of Parliament.
Rana Sanaullah said that PTI people keep saying what they want, Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa is a man of great principles.
He has flatly refused to take an extension in the post. The Chief Justice has said that he will not accept any extension.
The Chief Justice has spoken to the Law Minister and the Attorney General about not taking the extension.
