China Supports Pakistani Investigation Report On Basham Attack

China is backing up Pakistan’s efforts to dig into the March 26 bombing targeting engineers in Basham, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Saying no to terrorism is a worldwide necessity, according to China.

This all comes after Pakistan pointed fingers at the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leadership based in Afghanistan and some not-so-friendly foreign spy agencies for the attack Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson skipped mentioning Kabul during their chat with reporters.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Mao Ning chimed in by saying, “China appreciates the hard work that Pakistan has put into unraveling this terrorist incident.” The plan is for both countries to keep playing nice together on security stuff and making sure Chinese folks and projects in Pakistan stay safe and sound. Over on Pakistan’s side, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi mentioned that Afghan territory was used for attacking Chinese citizens and stressed how cooperation between Pakistan and China through CPEC keeps chugging along nicely.

Remember when those five Chinese engineers plus their Pakistani driver got killed in an ambush while traveling from Islamabad to Dasu near Shangla? Yeah, that incident sparked calls from China for a full-blown investigation and punishment for the culprits behind it.

Word on the street is more than a dozen supposed terrorists have been nabbed so far in connection with that tragic event in Basham two of them were tight buddies with the suicide bomber himself. There’s also some chatter about explosives being sneakily brought in from Afghanistan through Chaman to Dera Ismail Khan, then stashed at a gas station in Shangla for about ten days before going kaboom!
