The inside story of FBR Chairman Amjad Zubair Towana’s premature resignation has come out.
According to sources, Amjad Zubirtwana requested the Prime Minister’s Secretariat to remove himself from the post on Friday
But after 2 days of waiting, Amjad Zubair sent his resignation in writing to the Prime Minister.
Sources say that before resigning, Amjad Zubair consulted more than 2 cabinet members and the cabinet members also asked Amjad Zubair to resign.
Sources say that even senior officers of FBR did not cooperate with Amjad Zubair Towana, currently more than 21 officers in FBR are senior to Amjad Zubair Towana.
According to sources, Amjad Zubair Towana was appointed in the PDM government by the then Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and is considered close to the current Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
