In the federal budget of the next fiscal year 2024-25, a 15 to 20 % increase in the salaries of government employees was proposed.
Finance Ministry sources have said that it has been proposed to increase the salary of government employees from Grade 1 to 16 by 20 percent, and the salary of officers from Grade 17 to 22 has been proposed to be increased by 15 percent.
A 20% increase in pension has been proposed for retired civil servants in grades 1 to 16, and a 15% increase in pension for retired employees in grades 17 to 22.
The final approval to increase the salary and pension will be given in the federal cabinet meeting, a proposal has been made to increase the retirement age of government employees to 62 years.
These proposals will be implemented in consultation with the provincial governments, & after the approval of the federal cabinet, the matter will be sent to the Council of Common Interests for consideration.
Sources also say that if approved by the provincial governments, it will be implemented from the next financial year.
