Bodies Found Intact After Landslide in Poonch

Mendhar, Poonch District: After heavy rainfall triggered a landslide in Mendhar subdivision, an old graveyard was affected, exposing the graves of a husband and wife. To the astonishment of villagers, the bodies were found completely intact even after decades. Locals described the incident as a “sign of divine power.”

According to residents, the remains belonged to Moulana Ibrahim Mughal, who passed away 24 years ago, and his wife Kaneez Bi, who was buried four years ago. Both bodies were discovered in perfect condition, with their burial shrouds still preserved and no signs of decay.

The graves were uncovered Friday morning when part of the graveyard was hit by a landslide. Villagers began removing the debris and were shocked by what they found. “We were stunned when the graves opened, and the bodies appeared in a perfect state. It truly felt like a miracle,” said resident Mohammad Javid.

The graveyard has been in use for centuries by a few families of the village, where the couple had been buried side by side in accordance with Islamic traditions.

Later that evening, both bodies were reburied in a ceremony attended by thousands of villagers. Residents called it a clear reminder of God’s power and a divine sign.

Authorities have not commented on the incident so far, but it has sparked widespread discussion and reflection across the area.
