Blast At Peshawar CTD Station Kills One Officer

An explosion occurred inside the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station located on University Road, killing one officer and injuring two others.

According to the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), the blast took place in the station’s armory, where old explosive materials accidentally detonated. The fire spread to nearby ammunition, causing additional explosions and resulting in part of the building collapsing.

Police said that detainees present in the station were safely moved to the CTD Headquarters, while the area has been sealed off for clearance operations.
Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU), rescue, and fire brigade teams are conducting relief efforts.
Initial reports suggest the explosion does not appear to be a terrorist act.
