The Government of Balochistan has announced the establishment of the Bank of Balochistan to boost the province’s economic growth and provide financial facilities to the public. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, where the initial feasibility report of the project was presented and declared viable. The Chief Minister directed authorities to finalize an operational plan within one week.
Addressing the meeting, Mir Sarfraz Bugti stated that the establishment of the Bank of Balochistan will provide modern banking facilities to citizens, traders, and investors, while also catalyzing economic activity in the province. He termed the initiative a “historic milestone” for Balochistan’s economy, adding that it would create new employment opportunities for youth and accelerate the pace of developmental projects by utilizing provincial resources.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, and other senior officials. Banking sector experts also joined the session online and expressed consensus on making the project operational at the earliest.
