Security forces successfully foiled an infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Bajaur district, killing four terrorists, including the most-wanted militant Amjad alias Mazahim.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces detected the movement of terrorists attempting to infiltrate from across the border and swiftly launched a targeted operation, effectively neutralizing the threat.
Among the dead was Amjad alias Mazahim, a senior militant commander who served as deputy to the terrorist leader Noor Wali and headed the Fitna al-Khawarij Shura Council. The government had placed a bounty of Rs 5 million on his head.
ISPR further stated that Amjad had been hiding in Afghanistan for a long time and was involved in orchestrating multiple terrorist attacks inside Pakistan. The statement emphasized that Afghan soil continues to be used for terrorism against Pakistan, with repeated infiltration attempts being made in the Bajaur and Mohmand areas.
The Pakistan Army has once again urged the interim Afghan government to take decisive action against terrorist elements operating from its territory.
ISPR added that a clearance operation is currently underway in the area, reaffirming that security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism under the vision of “Azm-e-Istahkam” (Commitment to Stability).
