Mustansar Bilal, the son of Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Afzal of Ziarat district in Balochistan, has been recovered from a mountainous area in Harnai, confirmed the Levies authorities.
According to the Levies, Mustansar Bilal was left by unknown persons in the mountainous region of Harnai last night. After his recovery, he was allowed to speak with his family.
Mustansar Bilal stated in his initial statement that he has no information about the whereabouts of his father, Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Afzal.
It is worth mentioning that on August 10, Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Afzal was abducted along with his son Mustansar Bilal from the Zizri area of Ziarat.
The Levies Force and other security agencies are still conducting a search operation to locate Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Afzal.
How Was the Assistant Commissioner Abducted?
Armed men kidnapped Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Afzal and his son at gunpoint while they were enjoying a picnic with their family. The kidnappers surrounded them suddenly. The abductors released the rest of the family at the spot but took the Assistant Commissioner with them. They also freed his gunman and driver a short distance away.
The kidnappers set fire to the Assistant Commissioner’s official vehicle. Following the incident, security forces and local administration launched a search operation in the area.
Deputy Commissioner Ziarat, Zakaullah Durani, said the kidnapping has caused serious concern among authorities. He added that a similar abduction took place in June when Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Hanif Noorzai of Tehsil Tamp in Kech district was kidnapped.
