Asim Munir in DC: Pakistan Stands for Global Peace
During his important official visit to Washington, DC, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held meaningful meetings with leading American think tanks, strategic experts, policy-making institutions, and international media.
In these meetings, Pakistan not only strongly presented its principled stance on global and regional issues but also highlighted its prominent role in the war against terrorism.
According to the ISPR, in these meetings, the Field Marshal highlighted Pakistan’s peace-loving policy, continuous efforts for regional stability, and unparalleled sacrifices against terrorism.
Citing military initiatives like “Maar-e-Haq” and “Operation Banyan Marsus” as examples, he clarified that Pakistan has made immense human and financial sacrifices for the sake of the international community.
He warned that some regional powers are using terrorism as a weapon of hybrid warfare, which requires serious international action to stop.
The Field Marshal also drew attention to Pakistan’s economic potential, particularly the vast investment opportunities in sectors such as IT, agriculture, minerals, and mining. He said that global partnerships can benefit not only Pakistan but the entire world.
In his speech, he also made it clear that Pakistan is committed to a balanced, principled, and neutral foreign policy,
which is based on dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international law. Pakistan will continue to play a full role in establishing peace in the region and promoting security cooperation.
During the meetings, Pak-US relations were also discussed in detail, highlighting the common interests of both countries in counter-terrorism, economic development, and regional security.
The Field Marshal emphasized that the future of relations based on mutual respect and common interests is bright and strong.
