Ashura Observed Nationwide With Religious Reverence
In memory of the great sacrifices of the grandson of the Prophet (PBUH) Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the martyrs of Karbala, the Day of Ashura is being observed across the country today (Sunday) with religious devotion and respect.
This day holds great historical and spiritual significance, in which Muslims pay tribute to the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
Condolence meetings, processions and gatherings will be held in all the big and small cities and towns of the country, in which the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) will be mentioned and the greatness of the martyrs of Karbala will be highlighted.
Special gatherings and religious gatherings will be held on the occasion of this day, in which scholars will shed light on the message of freedom of Imam Hussain (RA) and the importance of his sacrifices.
Strict security arrangements have been made across the country on the occasion of Ashura. Law enforcement agencies have deployed a heavy contingent of police and Rangers in all important cities.
Special check posts have been set up on the routes of processions and gatherings and extraordinary measures have been taken keeping in mind all aspects of security.
In view of security concerns, mobile phone services will be partially suspended in some areas during the Day of Ashura. This measure has been taken for public safety to avoid any untoward incident.
To ensure public safety, pillion riding has also been banned in various parts of the country. This ban ensures that no kind of unrest or clashes are faced during processions and other religious events.
The Day of Ashura is a message for Muslims to be patient, sacrifice, and stand firm on principles. On this day, Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) along with his family and companions raised the voice of truth against falsehood by sacrificing his life on the battlefield of Karbala, and this day is celebrated with religious devotion every year in memory of this great sacrifice.
