Apex Committee Initiates Action Against Foreign Social Media Propaganda

The Apex Committee meeting of the National Action Plan chaired by the Prime Minister agreed to tighten the noose against social media propaganda elements abroad.

The Apex Committee meeting of the National Action Plan was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in which federal ministers, all four chief ministers, chief secretaries, Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan participated.

In addition, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, heads of intelligence agencies, DG FIA also participated in the meeting.

According to sources, in the Apex Committee meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of promoting political consensus and a positive national narrative to deal with the country’s problems.

In the meeting, political stability in the country was considered important for the success of the Resolute Stability Mission.

In the meeting, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of the people and combating terrorism.

During the meeting, consultations were held on the reactivation of NACTA and the establishment of threat identification centers, while a briefing was also given on the strategies of the relevant institutions to deal with terrorism, religious extremism, the spread of misleading information and other issues in the country and the region.

In the Apex Committee meeting, the participants discussed in detail the overall security situation of the country and agreed to unite against the menace of terrorism.

The forum also agreed to strictly suppress all kinds of extremism.
