ISLAMABAD: The inside story of the negotiation period between the government and the People’s Party has come to light, sources have claimed that all the demands of the People’s Party have not been accepted.
According to the sources, the PPP has backed away from the demand for local body elections in Punjab, but the demand to hold local body elections in Punjab this year has not been fulfilled.
The Punjab government will enact legislation related to local body elections this year and will take the PPP into confidence in this regard.
Sources said that during the negotiations, the government expressed ignorance of the anti-PP retaliation in Punjab, PML-N said how the government can take political revenge on the coalition party.
PP sources say that the government has assured recruitment on merit in Punjab, appointments will be made on the recommendation of the PP in certain districts, and the district administration will be recommended by the PP.
In Punjab, monitoring committees were also formed to implement the demands of PP, PML-N, and PP monitoring committees will meet after fifteen days.
