Airport operations in Lahore Disrupted by Flight Delays

On Sunday, there was a major disruption to the flight schedule at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, which left travelers upset and stranded. Throughout the day, numerous flights, both inbound and outbound, encountered significant delays.

Travelers waiting for the Fly Jinnah flight 9P 803 from Sharjah to Lahore experienced a three-hour delay, according to airport officials. In a similar vein, flight PK 280 operated by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) from Doha to Lahore experienced a delay of more than three hours.

Another disappointment was Emirates aircraft EK 622 from Dubai, which arrived an hour and forty minutes later than expected. Flights departing were also impacted.

Even four hours after its scheduled departure time, flight PA 4011 from Lahore to Karachi was unable to take off. In the meantime, Batik Air’s flight OD 132 to Kuala Lumpur was delayed by an hour and a half, and PIA aircraft PK 898, which was headed for Kuala Lumpur, was delayed by two hours and twenty minutes.

Details indicate that the Lahore airport refused to let a private airline’s flight from Karachi land. For a while, the plane circled the air to ask the control tower for permission to land, but because of the dense fog, it was rerouted to Karachi.

The weather at Karachi International Airport prevented an aircraft from another private carrier from departing for Lahore. Dense fog has already caused significant disruptions to flight operations at Allama Iqbal International Airport on January 19, thus this is not the first time it has happened.

According to a report citing sources, the airport’s schedule for both domestic and foreign flights was impacted by the dense fog.

Among the canceled flights are flight 9747, which is headed for Madina, and aircraft PK-307, which is headed for Karachi. Tomorrow at 8:00 am, PIA’s PK-9747 flight will depart Lahore airport for Madina.

When visibility at the Lahore airport dropped to only 20 meters on January 2, heavy fog disrupted the schedule of at least 12 domestic and international flights.

Because to the fog at the airport, up to six planes were delayed. According to sources, six flights were delayed and one outbound flight was canceled.
