Unfortunately, all airlines, including PIA, Saudi Air, and Emirates, have notified customers that the federal excise duty (FED) on their international tickets has increased as a result of the federal government’s announcement of a hike in the FED in the budget.
On July 1, the notification became operative.
The FED for economy and economy plus tickets has now increased by fifteen hundred percent.
As a result, travelers purchasing economy tickets would now pay Rs12,500 in FED instead of Rs5,000.
In a similar vein, duty has increased from Rs250,000 to Rs350,000 for passengers flying Club Class to the United States.
Similarly, the duty on airline tickets to the Middle East and Africa has gone up from Rs75,000 to Rs 10,000,000.
The Foreign Exchange Rate for tickets to European cities has been raised from Rs150,000 to Rs210,000.
In a similar vein, the tax on airline tickets to Australia, New Zealand, and the Far East has increased by 40% to Rs 210,000.
The government has suggested raising the excise charge on European travel tickets by Rs 60000. The excise charge on airfares to Europe will rise from Rs150,000 to Rs210,000 as of July 1.
The excise charge on tickets to Australia and New Zealand was raised by 60,000 rupees. The measure increased the excise charge to 210,000 rupees for flights between Australia and New Zealand.
Additionally, the excise charge on tickets to China, Malaysia, and Indonesia was raised to Rs 210,000. Excise duties on tickets from Middle Eastern and African nations, such as Saudi Arabia and Dubai, have increased by Rs 30,000. There was an excise levy of Rs. 150,000 on tickets to Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and African nations.
