The honorable FPCCI delegation comprised of FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh met with Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb in the Finance division meeting today. Called meeting was also attended by Minister of State for Finance & Revenue Mr. Ali Pervez Malik, Chairman FBR Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana.
The FPCCI delegation appreciated the Government and its policies regarding the preparation of a strong and sound budget for the year 2024-25. Moreover, appreciating the sentiments on expanding the tax base and encouraging non-filers to come into the tax net, the FPCCI delegation submitted certain propositions carrying proposals for the betterment of the situation of filer registrations such as introducing a simple form to augment the registration. The FPCCI vowed to help achieve another 50 million registrations by taking the government along.
In response, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb thanked the FPCCI delegation for their positive feedback and the tourism industry’s active participation in suggesting measures for the improvement of the tax system. He pledged the government’s willingness to consider the various recommendations from the delegation about the common welfare of the people and the development of the industry.
