Pakistani Cabinet Approves Setting Up Pm’s Relief Fund For Palestine & Lebanon

In the meeting of the Federal Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, it was approved to establish the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Palestine and Lebanon to help the people affected by Israel’s brutality in Palestine and Lebanon.

In this regard, the Federal Cabinet also issued necessary instructions to the State Bank of Pakistan regarding account opening.

According to the Federal Cabinet, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal will supervise the aid operations regarding Palestine and Lebanon.

The federal cabinet was briefed by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom regarding the implementation of e-offices in federal ministries and institutions.

The meeting was told that due to the steps taken by the government regarding the implementation of e-governance, Pakistan’s position in the United Nations e-Governance Development Index has improved by 14 ranks.

The meeting was further informed that the process of implementation of e-office is in progress in all 40 divisions of the federal government and 100% implementation of e-office has been implemented in some ministries.

The Prime Minister directed to make further improvements in the implementation of e-office and said that the progress in this regard will be reviewed after two weeks.

The Federal Cabinet approved the agreement on subsidies in the fisheries sector in the light of the decisions of the World Trade Organization.

Apart from this, the federal cabinet approved the signing of the agreement to grant the status of sister ports to Gwadar Port of Pakistan and Shanghai Port of China on the recommendation of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.

On the recommendation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federal Cabinet approved the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for bilateral political consultation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda.

On the recommendation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Cabinet approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana regarding bilateral political consultations.

The Federal Cabinet approved the authorization of Judicial Magistrate Gwadar and Judicial Magistrate Hub to hear anti-narcotics cases on the orders of the Chief Justice Balochistan High Court and the recommendation of the Ministry of Law and Justice.

The Federal Cabinet approved the decisions taken by the Cabinet Committee on Legislative Affairs in its meeting held on 25 September 2024.

Apart from this, the Federal Cabinet approved the decisions taken in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Chinese Investment Projects held on 16 September 2024.

The Federal Cabinet also approved the decisions of the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government-Owned Enterprises held on October 1, 2024.
