Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister called Senator Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister.
Acting Foreign Minister Kay expressed the deep sorrow of the Iranian nation and leadership over the killing of Haniyeh in Tehran on the occasion of the swearing-in ceremony of the President of Iran.
Ishaq Dar said that Pakistani people expressed these sentiments.
The Foreign Minister said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan has condemned the development in Gaza and the brutal killing of Ismail Haniya Shaheed in the strongest terms.
Furthermore, the National Assembly of Pakistan has unanimously condemned this heinous act which is against international law, diplomatic principles and established acceptable behavior among nations.
The Iranian Acting Foreign Minister also requested the Deputy Prime Minister to participate in the extraordinary meeting of the OIC convened at the level of foreign ministers on this issue.
The meeting has been requested by Iran and is likely to be held in the near future.
Ishaq Dar fully supported the call for an extraordinary meeting of OIC Foreign Ministers and confirmed that Pakistan will actively participate in this important meeting.
