PIA Reports Direct Flights from Quetta and Faisalabad for Umrah

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the start of direct flights from Quetta and Faisalabad to Jeddah, which is a good development for Umrah pilgrims.

The pilgrims’ adamant requests are the reason behind the decision.

PIA will offer direct Umrah flights from both locations twice a week starting on August 6.

Aspirants to perform the Umrah are anticipated to find the travel process greatly simplified by this new service, which offers a more practical and effective path to Jeddah.

The PIA had already provided a fifteen percent airfare discount for pilgrims performing the Umrah from Toronto to Saudi Arabia via Lahore.

This discount is valid on PIA tickets purchased from this month, July, through November 15, 2024, according to the 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the national airline’s release, travelers can take advantage of these cheap tickets from August 1 through November 15.

Every month, thousands of Pakistanis make the Umrah pilgrimage, traveling to Saudi Arabia to see the sacred sites in Makkah and Madinah. Umrah is an optional Islamic pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia’s Islamic landmarks. A condensed variant of the Hajj that can be done anytime of the year, it is optional.

According to a statement from the airline, “PIA has announced direct flights from Quetta and Faisalabad to Jeddah on the strong insistence of pilgrims.”

“Effective August 6, there will be direct flights operating between Quetta and Faisalabad.”

According to a representative for the national carrier, there would be two weekly flights from Quetta and Faisalabad to Jeddah.

Sheikh Jafar Khan Mandokhail, the governor of Balochistan, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for supporting the project.

According to him, in the past, Balochistani citizens could not get a direct Umrah flight to Saudi Arabia unless they traveled to Karachi two days in advance. Mandokhail claimed that direct flights will make it easier for Baloch pilgrims to travel from Quetta to Jeddah.

“And upon their return, the Balochistani passengers had to wait for a flight or alternative means of transportation to return [to Balochistan] for a few days,” he added.
