A spokeswoman stated here on Saturday that Zeeshan got millions of rupees from different persons in exchange for sending them to work in Dubai, Poland, Romania, Russia, and other European nations. Afterwards, he didn’t send them back overseas or give their money back.
As a result, the FIA team successfully raided the location following complaints, apprehending the accused and seizing numerous work permit copies, phony guarantee letters, bank receipts, laptops, and cell phones. He said that the accused was placed in jail until the completion of additional inquiry.
He went on, “The action taken by the FIA against the travel agents will prevent pilgrims from performing Umrah in the month of Rabiul Awwal.”
The Passport and Tourism Act was revised in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said, allowing travel agents to obtain a passport after finding out from the holder why they are traveling abroad. However, he added that Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Islamabad were exempt from this regulation.
Travel agencies have a verdict from the Peshawar High Court (PHC) in their favor from 2005 that permits them to keep their passports for visas, but even in the KP, the FIA did not spare them and detained them for holding the passport.
He continued, “We will file a contempt of court petition in the PHC against the FIA.”
He claimed that the investigating agency is making “unjust demands” in addition to detaining and intimidating the travel agents.
He made a strong statement, “We are travel agents, not human smugglers,” and insisted that the FIA cease its operations against them.
