SalamAir of Oman Begins Operations in Pakistan

A new international airline has begun service to Islamabad. Its maiden aircraft from Muscat, Oman landed in the federal capital on Tuesday.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) states that from tonight, SalamAir of Oman would begin operating flights to Lahore in addition to Islamabad.

Aftab Gilani, the manager of the Islamabad Airport, announced that SalamAir will run five flights to Pakistan per week.

At the international airport in Islamabad, the inaugural SalamAir flight’s passengers were welcomed by Aftab Gilani and the Omani ambassador.

The Pakistani Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) reported that Omar’s SalamAir airline had successfully completed its first trip to Islamabad on Tuesday. The airline intends to run five weekly flights between the capital city and Muscat.

On May 17, 2017, SalamAir, which bills itself as the first low-carrier airline in Oman, began operating flights to Sialkot in Pakistan. Additionally, the city has flights to Peshawar, Karachi, and Multan.

With 203 people on board, the airline’s inaugural flight to Islamabad, OV564, touched down in the capital of Pakistan on Tuesday at 2:55 a.m., according to the PCAA.

According to the PCAA, the airline’s management was also there for the cake-cutting event, which was preceded by a traditional water cannon salute for the maiden flight. The Omani ambassador and the COO/airport manager were also present.

The PCAA stated that “thereafter, flight OV564 departed Muscat at 4:00 a.m.” with 201 passengers on board.

According to the civil aviation authority, SalamAir intends to run five weekly flights from Islamabad to Muscat.

With the completion of its inaugural flight from Muscat to Peshawar in October 2023, SalamAir made the northwest city its fourth Pakistani destination. Aftab Gilani, the airport manager and ambassador of Oman, greeted the travellers at Islamabad Airport.

With this calculated move, SalamAir hopes to boost tourism, deepen relations between Oman and Pakistan, and give the Pakistani community in Oman additional travel choices.

The new route is a reflection of SalamAir’s dedication to growing its network and providing customers with excellent service.
