The Interior Ministry has decided to deploy the army throughout the country including Sindh during Muharram.
The Ministry of Interior has approved the deployment of the army throughout the country during Muharram, the deployment of the Pakistan Army has been done under Article 245 of the Constitution, the notification of which has been issued.
According to the notification, the army is being deployed to assist the civil administration, the deployment of the army will be done by the provinces given the ground conditions.
The governments of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan had requested to deploy the army while Azad Kashmir and Islamabad had also asked to deploy the army during Muharram.
According to the decree issued by the Federal Ministry of Interior, the army will be deployed in Sindh like the rest of the country under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
It was further said that the deployment of the army will be done given the ground conditions there, with the mutual consultation of the concerned parties, the army will be deployed as per the need, however, the authority to deploy the troops will be with the provinces.
