IMF Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva, has stated that negotiations for a new loan for Pakistan could be challenging and lengthy. Although Pakistan is willing to take a new loan from the IMF, there are still several issues that need to be resolved in the country. There is a requirement for a more transparent tax environment in Pakistan. While some progress has been made in fulfilling these requirements and improving Pakistan’s economy, negotiations for a new loan may still prove to be a lengthy and difficult process.
