A meeting was held in Quetta under the leadership of Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti, where the Vice-Chancellors of Public Sector Universities of Balochistan discussed the financial and administrative affairs of the universities. The universities were advised to control their increasing expenses and improve their financial affairs by creating a transparent system.
The autonomy granted should not be exceeded beyond the available resources. The Chief Minister expressed his disapproval of the Bajwood recruitments that led to the financial crisis.
The universities will receive funds based on their future performance, and the Finance Secretary was instructed to create performance indicators to evaluate their performance. The Vice-Chancellors were advised to make decisions on merit and avoid unnecessary ad-hoc recruitment. Only urgent recruitment should be done through newspaper advertisements to ensure transparency. Retired employees are not allowed to get both pension and salary benefits on a contract basis, as this is a burden on the resources that could be used for development
